Some days just feel a little more magical than others… and March 17, 2026 is definitely one of them.
Not only are we celebrating St. Patrick's Day, but this morning Medina County had a front row seat to a rare daylight meteor, and it fragmented right over Valley City.
Yes… Valley City, Ohio.
Around 8:57 AM, a massive fireball streaked across the sky:
First spotted above Lake Erie near Lorain
Traveled at 40,000 mph
Broke apart about 30 miles above Valley City
Released energy equal to 250 tons of TNT
That's what caused:
The loud booms
The shaking homes
The "what was THAT?!" texts we were all sending
And here's the kicker…
Meteorites may have landed right here in Medina County.
You really can't make this up.
On a day all about luck, gold, and a little magic, we had:
A meteor lighting up the morning sky
Possible space rocks landing in our backyard
And a whole lot of neighbors stepping outside trying to figure out what just happened
If that's not a little St. Patrick's Day magic… I don't know what is.
Here's where it gets even better…
I currently have a home for sale in Valley City.
And today, it just became:
A home in a beautiful rural community
A peaceful place with room to breathe
AND… possibly located near a meteor landing zone
I mean… talk about a conversation starter.
"Why did you choose this house?"
"Oh, you know… great location, nice layout, and a meteor exploded overhead the day we found it."
Days like today are why I love where we live.
In Medina County, you get:
Small-town charm
Strong community
Beautiful homes and land
And occasionally…
A once-in-a-lifetime moment that reminds you just how incredible this place is.
If you've ever thought about:
Moving to Valley City
Getting a little more space
Or just living somewhere that feels special
This might be your sign… (literally from the sky)
Reach out and I'd love to show you the home I have available.
Happy St. Patrick's Day, Medina County! ?
And keep an eye on your backyard… you never know what might land there.
